The Mendon First Church of God is a close-knit family of believers. We enjoy spending time together and welcoming new people to join us in fellowship. Sunday mornings, you will find us singing a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary songs. We enjoy an interactive service with our pastor. We love opening the church for community meals and other events, like the annual Christmas Walk and Thanksgiving Dinner. We have an amazing prayer network via Facebook. We offer Wednesday evening activities for all ages. If you are looking for a church family, we would love for you to visit us.
We hope you had the opportunity to join us for the annual Christmas Walk. It was a fun-filled time to celebrate the season of Christmas and birth of Jesus. The village was bustling with activities. Carriage rides, craft shows, Santa’s house, children’s crafts, and a bake sale are just a few of the events the village offered. Our historic town hall was filled with over 80 Christmas trees, each decorated in a unique theme. Families could be seen enjoying cookies and other delicious snacks in our fellowship hall. Children’s eyes were full of wonder as they gazed upon our nativity display. We honored our service men and women with a tribute display. Our sanctuary boasted a twelve-foot Christmas tree beautifully adorned in red and gold. Friday night, the sounds of carols could be heard echoing through the halls. On Saturday afternoon, we had a talented caricature artist that drew pictures of over 30 people. It was an amazing time to visit with community members and friends who traveled in from afar. If you missed it this year, be sure to mark the first weekend of December on your calendar next year so that you can enjoy the Annual Festival of Trees with us.
We offered a free Thanksgiving dinner in the community again this year. We served turkey, ham, stuffing, potatoes, macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, vegetables, and desserts. Our church was extremely blessed to receive several generous donations from the area businesses for this event. We served over 115 people on Thanksgiving Day. The sounds of laughter and joy could be heard throughout the fellowship hall as families and friends enjoyed the meal. Keep us in mind next year for your family’s Thanksgiving dinner. God bless!
